Coursera Cuts Malaysia Prices

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 22: Coursera, Inc. (NYSE: COUR) has introduced localized pricing and new interactive features to support Malaysia’s reskilling agenda amid rapid AI and digital transformation.
Learners in Malaysia can now access online courses at up to 40 percent lower cost, with the added benefit of exploring the first module of most programs — including graded assignments, video content and AI-powered support via Coursera Coach — before subscribing.
The platform has also rolled out Skill Tracks, structured role-based pathways in areas such as software and product, IT, data, and generative AI. These tracks use labor market data and Coursera’s Career Graph to align skills development with real job requirements, helping organizations close talent gaps more efficiently.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, 63 percent of Malaysian employers cite skill gaps as the biggest barrier to business transformation, highlighting the need for practical upskilling. Coursera’s initiatives are expected to play a key role in supporting national strategies such as the National AI Roadmap and the 13th Malaysia Plan.
With the new pricing, Malaysian learners can subscribe to Professional Certificates and Specializations starting at USD29 a month, Coursera Plus (Monthly) at USD35, and Coursera Plus (Annual) at USD239.
Coursera noted that Malaysia has become one of its fastest-growing and most engaged markets in Asia Pacific, recording a 183 percent year-on-year increase in Generative AI enrollments.
Skill Tracks are available to existing Coursera customers with access to the full catalog, while new customers can purchase them individually or bundled.
