Sydney, July 25: On Little Bourke Street, Melbourne’s beloved Thai culinary family has just opened Kan Eang Thai Bistro, a fresh 130-seat venue that reimagines Thai dining for the modern city crowd.
Created by siblings May and Nathan Pongvattanaporn of the Thai Culinary Group, the bistro blends Thai soul with Melbourne’s bistro flair, offering innovative dishes like Green Curry Spaghetti and Massaman Lamb Shank. With distinct menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and a playful cocktail list featuring drinks like the Laven-groni and Banana Colada, Kan Eang invites Melburnians to “feel at ease” and dine generously.
Meanwhile, HOYTS Cinemas and Bulla Dairy Foods are bringing a cinematic favourite to Aussie homes with the launch of Bulla HOYTS Choc Tops in select Coles stores from 16 July to 30 September.

Available in Vanilla and Salted Caramel, the four-pack treats come with a $12 movie ticket voucher valid until 30 July 2026—giving fans the chance to enjoy a movie snack at home while saving on their next trip to the big screen.

Adding to the mini-sized joy, OREO is launching the world’s smallest drive-thru in Sydney’s Pitt St Mall on Saturday 2nd August, where 5,000 cups of new OREO Mini Bites will be handed out for free. Attendees can hop into a motorised mini car and cruise through a pint-sized drive-thru to collect their frozen vanilla and OREO-cookie-crusted treats.
The stunt celebrates the rapid success of OREO Mini Bites, which are already available in freezers across Australia for RRP $7.00 at 7-Eleven, Ampol and other convenience stores.
From bold Thai flavours to movie-night indulgences and miniature drive-thru fun, Australia’s food scene is having a playful moment—and everyone’s invited to join.
