Sydney, Jun 3: After years of planning and preparation, the founder of Radiant Jewels Disha Mendapara has opened her first fine jewellery store in Sydney’s historic Dymocks Building, bringing a modern yet deeply personal touch to the city’s jewellery scene.
“Radiant has been in my mind for a couple of years,” the founder shared during an in-store interview, reflecting on her journey.
“But a lot of things had to take place before I could actually start. I wanted to make sure everything was right—from understanding the jewellery market to mastering the design process—before taking the leap.”
She spent several years learning the craftsmanship behind fine jewellery, determined to understand every step that goes into creating a meaningful piece.
“I took time to figure everything out—learned the design process, and everything in the back that goes into bringing these beautiful pieces to life,” she said.
“I wanted to make sure that whatever I’m building is not just for today, but for generations to last.”

Disha, the visionary behind Radiant Jewels, blends heritage, heart, and high craftsmanship to create timeless pieces that tell personal stories.
The founder comes from a family of jewellers with over three decades of experience in India.
“Yes, I am from a family of jewellers,” she said proudly.
“My family has been doing this for nearly 30 to 40 years back home. Now I’m learning those tricks from my dad and bringing them to Australia.”
Her family’s business in India, Superior Gems, operates as a large-scale wholesale supplier.
Radiant Jewels, by contrast, is a retail brand focused on custom, client-facing design.
“We create all the pieces here in Australia and get all the diamonds from India,” she explained.
Opening her first store was a bigger undertaking than expected—especially given the Dymocks Building’s heritage status and prime CBD location.
“When I started, I thought it was just going to be a couple of thousand dollars for the lease and paperwork,” she said.
“But there were so many council permissions to secure, and since we’ve used 18-carat gold across all pieces, the investment has been significant.”
Radiant Jewels aims to offer more than just sparkle.
“For me, Radiant is not just any other jewellery brand. I wanted it to be very thoughtful, deeply meaningful, and made with intention,” she said.
“Every piece we design doesn’t just shine—it tells a story, your story.”
The brand offers both natural and lab-grown diamonds, all of which are GI or IGI certified.
“Transparency is just as important as beauty,” she added. “You have to make sure people are getting what they pay for.”
Affordability and accessibility are also key to Radiant’s philosophy.
“If someone walks in with a small budget, I don’t mind. I’ve been there myself,” she said.
“We’ll ask a few questions, understand their style and budget, and create something they love. It’s not about selling the most expensive piece—it’s about emotional connection.”
Though the store is tucked away from the main street, the location was chosen deliberately to allow for personalised service.
“We didn’t want it to be on a busy shopfront. This way, we can offer private, one-on-one consultations,” she said. Customers can book appointments to try on different stones, discuss designs, and take their time—without any pressure to purchase.
“We have nearly 300 to 400 stones in-store,” she said.
“People can explore, get inspired, and even build something around a particular stone they fall in love with.”
While the boutique has only recently opened its doors, Radiant Jewels also offers global shipping and virtual consultations for customers anywhere in the world.
“You don’t even have to come in. We can connect via video call and figure out exactly what you want.”
With a focus on quality, care, and connection, Radiant Jewels is positioning itself as a jewellery brand that goes beyond trend—offering timeless pieces made with intention, passion, and a story behind every sparkle.
