Qantas Marks 90 Years

Qantas is celebrating 90 years of international flying, marking the milestone of its first overseas passenger flight from Brisbane to Singapore on 17 April 1935. Since then, over 273 million customers have flown across its international network, which now includes 56 routes to 34 destinations across 25 countries. To commemorate the occasion, Qantas is releasing historical archive content and unveiling limited edition Business Class amenity kits. The celebration also coincides with the airline’s ongoing international expansion and the upcoming launch of ultra-long-haul Project Sunrise flights.
Qsuite Next Gen Unveiled

Qatar Airways will debut its latest luxury Business Class product, ‘Qsuite Next Gen,’ at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2025 from 28 April to 1 May. The upgraded Qsuite features fully customisable Quad and Companion Suites, 4K OLED entertainment screens, expanded dining space, and enhanced privacy controls. Showcased at stand ME 1420, the innovation reinforces Qatar Airways’ leadership in premium travel and aviation technology.
Hawaiian Flight Deal Extended
Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants, represented by AFA-CWA, have voted 88 per cent in favour of a nearly three-year contract extension. The updated agreement aligns contract timelines with Alaska Airlines as both carriers work toward a joint collective bargaining agreement following their integration. Negotiations for the new joint agreement began in March, covering more than 9,200 flight attendants across both airlines.
Malaysia Airlines Expands Network
Malaysia Airlines has unveiled a special co-branded livery in collaboration with Manchester United on its A330-300 aircraft, accompanied by appearances from club legends in Kuala Lumpur. The airline also announced its return to Brisbane with direct flights resuming from 29 November 2025, along with increased frequencies to key Asia-Pacific destinations including Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Surabaya. At the same event, the airline previewed its first-ever lie-flat Business Class seats for its Boeing 737-10 narrowbody fleet. Additional product enhancements include revamped Economy Class tiers and a new EnrichMoney Visa prepaid card with instant redemption features.
