Living Optics Tech Tapped by Spore for Security Trial
Singapore, April 16: UK-based Living Optics has been selected by Singapore’s Homeland Security HTX division for a strategic proof-of-concept initiative, showcasing its hyperspectral imaging (HSI) camera for national security and forensic use cases. The lightweight, real-time HSI system enables frontline teams to detect threats, anomalies, and material traces that are invisible to conventional sensors—providing actionable intelligence without disturbing a scene.
The camera, based on proprietary snapshot technology, combines high spectral resolution with edge compute for onboard processing. It supports passive sensing and autonomous target recognition, reducing bandwidth needs and platform detection risk. Applications include detection of camouflage, structural fatigue, smuggling evidence, and human activity.
Living Optics’ platform is portable, low-SWAP, and designed for integration with drones, vehicles, and surveillance systems. Already validated in trials with NATO-affiliated groups and the UK Armed Forces, it is suitable for ISR, EOD, and personnel recovery missions across air, land, and maritime domains.
The company also offers a development kit, bundling its HSI hardware with a Python-based environment and NVIDIA GPU, enabling rapid prototyping and integration. Living Optics aims to make hyperspectral imaging broadly accessible for defence, industrial, and consumer use cases.
