It’s been a while since I last updated this column on Building a Brand, but the good news is that the project hasn’t stopped — in fact, it’s getting a bit of an uplift soon with a brand-new packaging line.
The last batch we had made was more of a test run, and I had handled most of the process myself. It was a great learning experience, especially since I was just starting out in the skincare space.
This time around, the plan is to expand the line to include products that complement what we already have — from a face cleanser right up to, potentially, a perfume.
The perfume is still in the works, and while I’m waiting on some details to come through, I’m happy to say I already have a recipe in hand.
It was created a few years back during a fun afternoon workshop I happened to attend. Sometimes things fall into place when you least expect it, and that experience definitely left a lasting impression.
So, I’ve held on to the recipe ever since and am now taking steps to bring it to life.
Creating a personal fragrance has been a dream of mine for the past decade, and it feels good to be moving closer to it.
I’m also thinking of giving the entire brand a simplified, refreshed look — something more cohesive that really ties the whole range together.
The current design has served its purpose, but I think it’s time to streamline everything, including product names, so the branding feels more unified.
I’ve already started conversations with the manufacturer, and things are moving forward with the costing and planning.
The perfume recipe has been shared, and now it’s just a bit of a waiting game on that front.
As for the other LazyBum products, the formulas will remain the same — just the packaging will be getting an upgrade.
These will also be added to our online storefront in the near future.
That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading, and yes — this column is officially back in full swing!
