Alone Australia Returns Strong

Sydney, March 22: The hit survival series Alone Australia is back with its most daring season yet. Premiering with a double episode on Wednesday, March 26, at 7.30pm on SBS and SBS On Demand, season three returns to home soil across twelve gripping episodes.
This time, the challenge unfolds in the unpredictable and unforgiving wilds of the West Coast Ranges of Tasmania.
Ten new trailblazing survivalists will push themselves to the absolute limit, alone, totally isolated, and without any contact from the outside world.
Withstanding the elements and adapting to the wild, they will fight to be the last one standing and win a life-changing prize of $250,000.
After watching the first two episodes, we were immediately hooked.
The show reminded us of Survivor, though we couldn’t help but wish the prize was a million dollars instead.
This season is supersized in every way, with bold characters, fierce competition, and masterful bushcraft skills. The kill counts are extraordinary, and surprises emerge at every turn as the participants tackle one challenge after another with remarkable ingenuity.
As always, there are only three ways to leave: voluntary tap out, medical extraction, or victory. With no camera crew, each participant documents their own survival as they battle through a brutal winter, struggling to stay warm, dry, and fed.

Armed with only ten personally selected items, they must navigate the relentless cold and wet of Tasmania’s wilderness, but the greatest battle isn’t just physical—it’s mental.
The loneliness and isolation test their emotional resilience, making this not just a competition against each other but against themselves.
This season features a series of firsts. With five women competing, it is the first time the cast has achieved equal gender representation.
One contestant makes history as the oldest player in the series so far.
New and innovative approaches to hunting, fishing, and trapping redefine survival strategies, and the shelter-building and bushcraft reach new levels.
Dramatic wildlife encounters and unpredictable hazards raise the stakes, making this the most thrilling season yet.
Beyond being a survival experiment, Alone Australia explores self-reliance, courage, and adaptation.
It questions societal norms and highlights the primal connection between humanity and the natural world.
The season also brings an emphasis on First Nations’ relationships with Country, adding an educational layer that celebrates cultural knowledge and resilience.
SBS Head of Unscripted, Joseph Maxwell, described the season as gripping television, full of unfiltered and raw stories that surprise, inform, and entertain.
ITV Studios Australia’s Chief Content Officer, Beth Hart, praised it as the most addictive season yet, set in a stunning yet unforgiving location with unexpected twists and innovative survival techniques.
The equal gender representation and remarkable innovation from the contestants make it a must-watch.
Screen Tasmania’s Alex Sangston expressed pride in hosting the production, marking the first project to receive the new Island Screen Incentive.
He highlighted the importance of the show’s engagement with Palawa cultural practice and storytelling, bringing global audiences closer to the rich history of Tasmania’s First Nations people.
The season introduces a diverse and highly skilled cast, each bringing unique survival skills, resilience, and motivations.
From bushcraft experts to professional trappers, Indigenous hunters, and off-grid living enthusiasts, the participants face a true test of endurance and mental fortitude.
Alone Australia is an A+E Media Group format and an ITV Studios Australia production for SBS.
The season premieres with a double episode on Wednesday, March 26, at 7.30pm on SBS and SBS On Demand, concluding with a double finale on June 4.
All twelve episodes will be available with subtitles in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Korean, as well as with audio descriptions for blind or vision-impaired audiences.
