Kuala Lumpur, Feb 6: Applications are now open for Zero Waste Malaysia’s Green Wira Programme (GWP) Cohort 2.0, an educate-the-educator initiative in collaboration with Yayasan Bursa Malaysia, Amazon Web Services, and PwC Malaysia. Following the success of the 2024 pilot, which trained 50 educators and launched three Zero Waste School projects, the programme is now endorsed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and aims to train 300 teachers nationwide.
The GWP offers an online self-paced course, physical workshops, and up to RM30,000 in project seed funding for zero waste initiatives in schools.
Unlike the first cohort, which was limited to Klang Valley, Cohort 2.0 is open to primary and secondary school teachers across Malaysia.
Government school educators can claim SPLKPM points upon completion, and past participants have gained media recognition for their contributions.
Applications close on March 31, 2025.
