D-Link Aquila Pro Review

By June Ramli

This is my third time setting up and reviewing a D-Link system, and as with previous models, the experience started with a few bumps.
Despite the claim of 24/7 support, it took a call to the Philippines-based support center early in the morning to get my setup sorted.
The first attempt left me hanging, as the call went on too long and had to be cut short.
However, after reconnecting, the support staff finally helped me complete the setup, albeit not without some frustration.
Setting up the Aquila Pro AI M60 AX6000, a Wi-Fi 6 mesh system from D-Link’s latest lineup, was intended to be straightforward via the Aquila Pro app.
However, I found that navigating through the process wasn’t entirely seamless, especially when connecting multiple devices.

My recommendation: If you’re setting this up for the first time, be prepared to call customer support for assistance, as the app instructions may leave you puzzled.
Once connected, the Aquila Pro M60 proved its worth, covering every corner of my apartment with a stable and speedy connection.
I tested it with both 2-Pack and 3-Pack setups, which D-Link claims can cover up to 510 and 740 square meters, respectively.
With high-speed Wi-Fi 6 technology delivering up to 6Gbps, the mesh system performed well, handling multiple devices streaming and gaming simultaneously without lag.
If you’ve got a spot in the house with poor connectivity, placing an extra unit there ensures the signal remains strong and consistent.

I appreciated the eco-friendly aspect of this device, from its recycled material chassis to the minimal use of plant-based ink on the packaging.
The design itself is sleek, wall-mountable, and blends well with any modern decor. It’s also compatible with voice commands via Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing for easy integration with other smart home devices.
The M60’s AI-driven features, like the AI Wi-Fi Optimizer and AI Traffic Optimizer, help manage channel interference and network traffic, providing smooth 4K/8K streaming and uninterrupted video calls.
The device also includes advanced security with WPA3 encryption and an option for parental controls, which is a solid addition for households with children.

In terms of physical setup, the system includes a 2.5G WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports for wired devices, which can be handy for connecting smart TVs or gaming consoles directly.
As for the price, the Aquila Pro M60 Mesh Systems are available starting at $329.95 for a single unit, with the 2-Pack at $579.95 and the 3-Pack at $799.95, making it a solid investment for larger homes requiring robust Wi-Fi coverage.
While the initial setup could be improved for a smoother user experience, once up and running, the D-Link Aquila Pro M60 AX6000 delivers reliable and far-reaching connectivity, proving itself a worthy addition to any household looking for comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage.
