Presto Secures RM10 Million Contract
Kuala Lumpur, Oct 21: Presto Technology Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of PUC Berhad, has been awarded a RM10 million contract by the Green Growth Asia Foundation (GGAF).
The partnership focuses on developing a CRM system to streamline GGAF’s fundraising efforts, supporting its environmental sustainability initiatives.
PUC’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, Wayne Lim Beng Chai, highlighted the collaboration as a step forward in leveraging technology for environmental impact, aligning with PUC’s ESG principles. GGAF’s Chief Executive, Dr. Balamurugan Ratha Krishnan, expressed optimism about the CRM system’s potential to enhance donor management and drive impactful sustainability projects in the region.
JCB, GHL Expand Partnership

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 21: GHL Systems Berhad (GHL) and JCB International Co., Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to enable JCB card acceptance across GHL’s merchant network in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This collaboration expands GHL’s payment offerings, allowing its 480,000 payment touchpoints to accept JCB Cards, enhancing flexibility for merchants and cardmembers.
The rollout will commence in Malaysia in Q3 2024, followed by Thailand and the Philippines, coinciding with tourism recovery to pre-pandemic levels.
Businesses Push Sustainability Targets

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 21: A report by Alibaba Cloud reveals that 80 per cent of businesses across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East have set sustainability targets, with Malaysia mirroring the trend at 83 per cent. However, 53 per cent of these businesses rely on manual tools to track progress, with Malaysia slightly higher at 56 per cent.
The report highlights key barriers to sustainability, including budget constraints, complex supply chains, and technology limitations. While 92 per cent of companies with targets aim to reduce emissions, only a third have committed to net-zero goals with science-based targets (SBTs).
Regionally, Singapore leads in sustainability index scores at 91 per cent, followed by Germany at 89 per cent. The survey also underscores the importance of technology, with 89 per cent of Malaysian businesses agreeing that technology is vital to achieving sustainability goals.
Vertiv, NVIDIA Unveil AI Blueprint

Malaysia, Oct 21: Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) has co-developed a 7MW reference architecture with NVIDIA for the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 platform, designed to power AI applications across enterprises. The architecture integrates hybrid liquid and air cooling, enabling AI data centers to handle high-density workloads efficiently.
Key features include rapid deployment with preconfigured modules, space-saving power management, and energy-efficient cooling technologies. Vertiv’s infrastructure ensures accelerated AI deployment for new and retrofit data centers, supporting the NVIDIA Blackwell platform.
The design aligns AI clusters to data center capacities, offering flexibility for future workloads.
Vertiv’s experts are presenting the solution at the OCP Summit from October 15-17, booth #C5.
Yayasan MR D.I.Y Enhances Bukit Kutu

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 21: Hikers at Bukit Kutu in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor, can now enjoy a safer and cleaner trail, thanks to Yayasan MR D.I.Y. The Foundation, in collaboration with Jabatan Perhutanan, Malim Gunung Perhutanan Selangor, and 30 volunteers, installed nine signages along the trail and conducted a cleanup.
This initiative is part of MR D.I.Y’s ongoing ‘Jiran Sejati, Sentiasa Di Sisi’ campaign, aiming to improve recreational spaces and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Established in June 2023, Yayasan MR D.I.Y. has led 175 community programmes, benefiting over 58,000 individuals.
KCM Channel Debuts on Sooka

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 21: KC Global Media has launched its first Free-Ad Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channel, KCM, in partnership with sooka, Malaysia’s streaming content provider.
KCM offers a variety of premium content, including drama series, blockbuster movies, and factual entertainment featuring documentaries on icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, BTS, and Taylor Swift.
The launch adds KCM to sooka’s growing lineup of free channels, alongside AXN and ONE. Registered users can access KCM for free, while premium subscriptions with additional entertainment and sports content start at RM12.90 per month.
