Simplifying Hotel Pricing

Sydney, Oct 14: Two key players in the hotel technology industry — Amadeus and Room Price Genie — are helping hotels streamline operations and optimize pricing to boost profitability through innovative software solutions.
Amadeus, a global leader in hospitality technology, offers a flexible range of products tailored to properties of all sizes across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
“We work with hotels ranging from small five-room properties to large-scale hotels with thousands of rooms,” explained Nicole Dobson, Regional Vice President for the region.
While Amadeus has yet to specifically target travel influencers or solo content creators, Dobson emphasized that the company continues to serve a wide array of hotels with comprehensive software solutions designed to simplify hotel management and pricing.

In exclusive interviews with DailyStraits.com at the No Vacancy Expo, held at the ICCC in Sydney last month, both Amadeus and Room Price Genie shared insights on how they are helping hotels maximize revenue and enhance operational efficiency.
Room Price Genie, a Germany-based hotel pricing optimization company, highlighted its platform, which uses data analysis to help hotels set optimal prices.
Co-founder Marvin Speh explained how the platform integrates with Property Management Systems (PMS) or channel managers to provide pricing recommendations, which are then distributed across various booking platforms.
“We help hotels find the right price to optimize revenue,” said Speh.

The company currently operates with 70 percent of its business in Europe, 15 percent in Australia and New Zealand, and another 15 percent in North America.
Speh also revealed plans to slowly expand into Southeast Asia, though they do not yet have a team on the ground there. “It’s a key future market for us,” he added.Both Amadeus and Room Price Genie work with hotels of all sizes, helping them navigate complex market dynamics.
While Amadeus supports operational needs, Room Price Genie’s pricing optimization platform has already demonstrated significant results, with hotels using the service seeing a 19 percent increase in revenue over the past year.

“We’ve noticed higher occupancy rates and increased average daily rates for those using our platform,” Speh said.
Room Price Genie, which entered the Australian market two and a half years ago, has been growing steadily, with plans to soon have over 10 staff members in the region. The company focuses primarily on smaller hotel chains and boutique accommodations.
“We’re continuing to expand, but it’s a gradual process,” Speh said, adding that the company’s name was the creative idea of his co-founder’s wife, who thought it would be catchy and memorable.
As the hospitality industry adapts to new challenges and opportunities, both Amadeus and Room Price Genie are at the forefront of helping hotels optimize pricing strategies and improve their operational efficiency.
