Robotics Education Expanded with Investment

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 4: JAZRO Robotic Academy (JAZRO), a robotics education startup incubated by PETRONAS Innovation Garage (PING), has secured a RM1.2 million investment from Gobi Partners.
This funding, through the Khazanah Nasional Berhad-backed Gobi Dana Impak Ventures (GDIV) fund, aims to help JAZRO broaden its offerings and reach more young learners, fostering the development of future tech innovators.
Founded in 2020 by Ir. Dzulfarqeish Bin Zainuddin and co-founders Yasser Rabanie and Khoirun Nisah, JAZRO focuses on providing inclusive robotic education.
The company’s program was born out of Dzulfarqeish’s frustration with the lack of available robotics courses for his son in Kerteh while he was working as an engineer.
The startup has since grown to operate in Kerteh, Kuala Terengganu, Chukai, and Cyberjaya, educating over 50,000 students.
JAZRO’s curriculum, designed to cater to children from diverse backgrounds, emphasizes hands-on experiences in robotics and coding, sparking creativity and innovation.
The program has won several awards, including TERAJU SUPERB 2021 and CRADLE MYStartup MYHackathon 2022.
Recently, JAZRO extended its services to include specialized robotics education for autistic children, employing tutors trained alongside occupational therapists to foster cognitive and social development.
As one of the four employee-driven startups nurtured under PETRONAS Innovation Garage, JAZRO benefits from mentorship, funding, and resources.
This internal incubator encourages employees like Dzulfarqeish to pursue entrepreneurial ventures while maintaining their corporate roles.
This investment aligns with Gobi Partners’ mission of supporting startups that drive social impact through technology, particularly in education.
According to Gobi Partners Managing Partner (Malaysia), Jamaludin Bujang, this partnership with JAZRO is expected to bridge the digital divide and equip the next generation of innovators.
The funding also aligns with Khazanah’s Dana Impak mandate under the Future Malaysia Programme, which aims to support startups contributing to Malaysia’s socioeconomic growth across various sectors, including education and technology.
JAZRO will use the funds to enhance its educational offerings and continue expanding its reach, ensuring that more children across Malaysia have access to essential skills in robotics and coding.
This expansion also supports the Malaysian government’s Dasar Pendidikan Digital, which seeks to improve digital literacy among students and educators nationwide.
