Sydney, Sept 27: Sony has unveiled the winners of the 2024 Sony Alpha Awards, which celebrate exceptional photography by both amateur and professional photographers across Australia and New Zealand.
The ninth annual competition attracted over 2,600 entries, showcasing a wide range of stunning imagery captured on Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.
A total of $54,000 worth of Sony camera gear was awarded across the categories, with each category winner receiving $4,000 in gear.
The Grand Prize Winner, Ben Sowry, took home $10,000 worth of Sony equipment for his winning entry, “To honour you.”
The winners were announced during an event held at the iconic White Bay Power Station in Sydney, which kicked off the inaugural Scene Tradeshow.
The two-day, ticketed event on September 28 and 29 gives attendees the chance to explore the latest Sony cameras, lenses, and accessories through hands-on demonstrations.
The event also features workshops, panel discussions, and masterclasses led by industry experts.
In addition, a printed artist gallery showcases the work of all the finalists in the 2024 Alpha Awards, and shortlisted films from Sony’s Catchlight Film Festival will be screened.
The Scene Tradeshow is a must-attend for photography, filmmaking, and content creation enthusiasts, providing inspiration and education from over 30 creators.
