Skynopy Partners with AWS

Paris, Sept 17: Skynopy, a French space start-up, is joining forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to improve satellite data receiving by expanding its global network of ground stations.
The collaboration will add 12 new stations, enabling Skynopy to streamline satellite communications and simplify the process of data acquisition for satellite operators.
Skynopy, a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN), has integrated AWS Ground Station into its platform, following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
This move is set to enhance connectivity for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite operators, addressing a significant challenge in the industry—efficient satellite communication.
Satellites are essential for services like weather forecasting and surface imaging, but controlling satellites and transmitting data back to Earth has often been a bottleneck due to the complexities of satellite connectivity.
The collaboration aims to reduce these barriers, offering satellite operators a seamless solution to the technical and commercial challenges of LEO satellite communications.
“This is a pivotal milestone for Skynopy. This collaboration enhances Skynopy’s offerings by allowing operators to fully leverage AWS’s global infrastructure and services for their satellite receive-communication needs. By taking advantage of our ‘as a service’ approach, customers can focus entirely on their missions without worrying about the technical details of connectivity or the costly investment in ground antenna infrastructure,” said Pierre Bertrand, co-founder of Skynopy.
Earlier this year, Skynopy secured €3.1 million in funding to simplify satellite connectivity and make the process user-friendly.
By integrating a hybrid network of ground antennas, connectors, and software solutions, Skynopy’s turnkey service helps satellite operators efficiently transmit commands and receive data, positioning the company as a key player in the expanding space industry.
Skynopy’s early clients include HEMERIA and CNES.
