Sydney, Sept 13: British Airways is extending its new route to Kuala Lumpur into the peak summer months of 2025.
Set to launch in November 2024, the Kuala Lumpur service will now be part of the airline’s growing global network next year.
This expansion marks a significant step in British Airways’ strategy to increase its presence in Southeast Asia, offering more travel options for passengers flying to and from the Malaysian capital during the busiest travel season.
Alongside this, the airline is boosting flights to key destinations worldwide as part of its broader 2025 network growth.
In addition to Kuala Lumpur, British Airways will also continue its new Jeddah service into summer 2025 and ramp up its flights to Riyadh.
These expansions signal the airline’s commitment to strengthening its routes in the Middle East.
The airline is also making significant moves in North America.
British Airways will operate a record number of transatlantic flights in summer 2025, with over 400 weekly flights to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Cities like Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas are seeing major increases in service, with Miami now featuring twice-daily flights year-round.
Vancouver will also see more frequent flights from London Heathrow and Gatwick.
Other long-haul destinations are benefiting from this global expansion as well.
Flights to Delhi will increase to three per day, while Cancun will shift to a daily service during the summer months.
British Airways is also reviving its direct route between London Gatwick and Bangkok for winter 2024, giving travelers more options for visiting Thailand.
This expansion comes as British Airways looks to offer more convenience and luxury to its customers. The airline remains the only European carrier offering a First class cabin on transatlantic routes, and it will soon introduce this service on one of its twice-daily flights to Doha, using a Boeing 787-10.
As British Airways continues to grow its network, Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, emphasized how crucial the U.S. market is to the airline.
Over the last decade, British Airways has steadily expanded its U.S. routes, adding cities like Austin, Nashville, Portland, and Cincinnati to its roster.
The airline is also preparing for increased demand, driven by major events such as the Miami Grand Prix and Rod Stewart’s Encore Shows in Las Vegas in 2025.
With more flights, premium services, and global connections, British Airways is reinforcing its position as a leader in both transatlantic and international travel, giving passengers more choices and better experiences as they plan their 2025 journeys.
