Sydney, Aug 28: Following the record-breaking Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where 9.535 million tickets were sold, the excitement continues as over two million tickets have already been sold for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Of these, one million were snapped up in just one month, setting the stage for a highly anticipated event.
Kicking off with an Opening Ceremony in the heart of Paris today, the Paralympic Games will extend the unique atmosphere and dramatic competition seen during the Olympics.
Spectators have the chance to experience 22 Para sports at iconic venues.
For many, the Paralympic Games will be their first encounter with Paris 2024, with 52 per cent of ticket holders attending for the first time.
Meanwhile, 48 per cent already experienced the Olympic Games.
The enthusiasm is particularly strong among French spectators, who have purchased over 90 per cent of the tickets.
Twenty sports have sold at least 75 per cent of their general public tickets, with eleven exceeding 90 per cent, including blind football, wheelchair fencing, and Para track cycling.
Ticket sales details reveal that 92 per cent of buyers reside in France, while eight per cent are international, primarily from the United Kingdom (28 per cent), Germany (14 per cent), and the United States (10 per cent).
For the first time, a hospitality programme is offered at the Paralympic Games.
On Location, Paris 2024’s official hospitality provider, presents packages that include exclusive experiences such as a garden party at the Jardin des Tuileries during the Opening Ceremony and access to a special exhibition.
Hospitality options are available for eight Para sports and both ceremonies.
Tickets and packages are available on the official website, with new tickets possibly released until the last day of the event on Sept 8.
