Canberra, Aug 12: Samsara Eco has formed a Scientific Advisory Board to guide its mission of eliminating plastic waste through innovative recycling.
The board includes Dr. Sean Simpson, Dr. Gregg Beckham, and Professor Sang Yup Lee, each bringing extensive expertise in sustainability and biotechnology.
“Our advisors are the pre-eminent researchers in their fields, and we are proud to have assembled the most qualified group of scientists to help drive our scientific endeavours,” said Paul Riley, CEO of Samsara Eco.
The board aims to accelerate the company’s enzymatic recycling technology.

Qantas Backs Carbon Credit Fund

Sydney, Aug 12: Qantas has joined Rio Tinto and BHP as initial investors in the Silva Carbon Origination Fund, which aims to develop high-integrity, nature-based carbon projects in Australia.
Managed by Silva Capital, the fund targets raising $250 million to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) through land reforestation and integrated agriculture.
Qantas’ investment, financed through its AUD$400 million Climate Fund, aligns with its efforts to decarbonize and meet climate targets.
The initiative supports the scaling of nature-based carbon credits, offering ecological and economic benefits to local communities.

JB Hi-Fi Acquires e&s

Sydney, Aug 12: JB Hi-Fi has invested AUD$47.8 million to acquire a 75 per cent majority stake in e&s, an Australian retailer specializing in premium kitchen, bathroom, and laundry appliances.
e&s Managing Director Rob Sinclair emphasized that the partnership would allow e&s to expand its reach while maintaining its brand and unique operating model.
JB Hi-Fi Group CEO, Terry Smart, highlighted the strategic value of e&s’ premium product offering, which complements JB Hi-Fi’s existing businesses.
Operations at e&s’ current stores will remain unchanged.

The Flintofts, now the new owners, plan to revitalize the 73-year-old brand, emphasizing sustainability and local craftsmanship.
They will launch Sunset Lover’s upcoming Resort 2024/25 collection in collaboration with Silver Fleece, aiming to bring more Australian companies into sustainable fashion.
The Flintofts expressed their commitment to preserving the mill’s legacy and expanding its operations to full capacity, ensuring its continued success.
