If you’re wondering what to do this long weekend, why not head down to Wild Life Sydney Zoo, a compact zoo right in the heart of Darling Harbour?

After visiting Madame Tussauds, I made my way to this delightful attraction.
Located next to other major attractions and large office buildings, Wild Life Sydney Zoo offers a fantastic introduction to Australia’s diverse wildlife.

From kangaroos to koalas and even platypuses, there’s something for everyone.
One of the highlights for me was the crocodile enclave, featuring three small crocodiles reportedly transported from Cairns in Queensland.
The zoo also has a variety of reptiles, including snakes and lizards of all shapes and sizes.

I spent a good 20 minutes observing these fascinating creatures.
However, the standout attraction was definitely the kangaroo area, where guests can mingle with kangaroos in a close-knit environment.

A warning sign advises visitors not to feed the kangaroos and notes that some may jump over the low barrier fence, but despite the above sign, the keeper assured me that they won’t attack.

Wild Life Sydney Zoo is a perfect spot for city workers to unwind during their lunch breaks, as well as for tourists and parents with young children.
Once you finish your visit, head to the cafe for a cuppa and an informative talk on koalas, another iconic Australian animal you must photograph before your trip ends.
This zoo is definitely worth a visit, especially if you don’t have time to explore Taronga Zoo.
