Sydney, May 14: Korean Air has been awarded the best airline onboard menu for its First Class cabin by Global Traveler magazine, marking another accolade for its exceptional food and beverage service.
The recognition came as part of the 2024 Leisure and Lifestyle Travel Awards, where the carrier’s commitment to culinary excellence continues to receive international acclaim.
In addition to this latest honor, Korean Air was also celebrated for having the best airline cuisine in Global Traveler’s 2023 Tested Reader Survey awards, among other distinctions.
The airline offers a variety of gourmet menu options that vary by route and season, including dishes such as roasted Chilean sea bass with vermouth sauce, spicy beef short rib stew, spicy buckwheat noodles, and the traditional Korean dish, bibimbap.
Global Traveler, a U.S.-based luxury travel magazine, conducts annual surveys where its subscribers, both online and offline, vote on the best in travel-related categories.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of the magazine’s leisure travel survey.
The ongoing success of Korean Air in these rankings can be attributed to its continuous investment in service enhancements.
Last year, the airline expanded its menu to include vegan options inspired by traditional Korean temple cuisine and offered a diverse selection of pre-order meals catering to various dietary needs including vegetarian, glucose-free, and children’s selections.
Moreover, Korean Air has enhanced its wine program under the guidance of internationally renowned sommelier Marc Almert.
This initiative introduced over 50 new wines to its already award-winning collection.
Korean Air’s commitment to superior customer service has consistently earned it global recognition.
The airline holds a Skytrax 5-star rating for the second consecutive year and an APEX 5-star global airline rating for the seventh consecutive year.
