Every eligible drink purchase gives patrons a chance to win in a prize pool valued over $600,000, including a year of free movies. Each purchased drink comes with a unique code for an online scratch and win.
HOYTS CEO Damian Keogh shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We have over 50,000 prizes up for grabs including popcorns, drinks, and choc tops. The other end of the prize pool includes free 12-month HOYTS Rewards VIP memberships and a range of tickets for our mainstream and HOYTS LUX sessions.” He highlighted the grand prize, “Three extremely lucky winners will receive a HOYTS Gold Card, a truly rare and exclusive reward that grants holders two free movie tickets every day for an entire year.”

Sydney, May 3: Dilhan Fernando, CEO of Dilmah Tea, is set to visit Australia next month to promote the health benefits of daily tea consumption.
Fernando will host masterclasses in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide, highlighting how a single cup of Ceylon black tea each day can boost immunity and prevent illnesses like the flu and common colds.
His tour will also include a special high tea event at the RSL LifeCare ANZAC Village in Sydney.

Kuala Lumpur, May 14: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has announced the return of the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun, a charity event aimed at raising cancer awareness and supporting the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM). Scheduled for Dataran Merdeka, the run is part of Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible campaign, promoting “Mobility for All.”
Reflecting on the run’s significance, Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, stated, “The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun incorporates our dedication to Move Your World. It’s not just about encouraging physical activity but rather a platform for fostering social responsibility and empowering individuals to embrace mobility as a catalyst for positive change in our communities. Through this event, we aim to inspire participants to not only push their physical limits but also to recognise the profound impact they can have on society by coming together in support of a worthy cause.”
The event, which attracted over 4,300 participants in previous years, features a 10KM competitive race for individuals aged 18 and above, along with a Fun Run open to all ages. With a RM50,000 prize pool, the competition invites runners to challenge themselves while contributing to a noble cause.
Datuk Ravindran added, “Cancer ranks as the fourth leading cause of death in Malaysia, highlighting the critical need to raise awareness and rally support for this initiative. By uniting, we have the power to significantly impact the lives of cancer patients and their families, while also supporting vital research and services aimed at combating this disease.”

Sydney, May 16: The Raclette Igloo Experience is set to dazzle Sydney with a French alpine winter wonderland on the Broadway Shopping Centre rooftop.
Scheduled from June 29 to July 28, this culinary event offers a cozy escape with private igloos, where guests can enjoy Raclette cheese, sip on wine, and roast marshmallows over a fire pit.
Previously a hit in Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide, the experience draws cheese lovers to indulge in authentic Raclette, a popular winter dish from the French Alps.
Guests can enjoy up to 2 kilos of Raclette cheese served with cured meats, boiled potatoes, pickled onions, and cornichons.
Vincent Hernandez, the event director, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Raclette isn’t just a meal – it’s a French tradition of sharing, laughter, and indulgence.
At the Igloo Raclette experience, we bring that same warmth and joy to Sydney, allowing people to create unforgettable memories together while indulging in lots of cheese.”

Championing Small Businesses

Sydney, May 18: Entries are now open for the 2024 Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards and the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards, both of which offer free online entry.
The Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards, accepting entries until 5:00 PM (AEST) on July 4, recognize the critical role of small trade businesses in Australia’s economy.
The awards feature over 50 categories, including five individual honors such as Apprentice Champion and Champion Tradie.
Founder Steve Loe highlighted the importance of these businesses, stating, “Small business owners in trade industries are crucially important to Australia.
Their contributions to this country are simply astronomical.”
The Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards, open until 5:00 PM (AEST) on June 26, 2024, celebrate female entrepreneurs across more than 65 categories.
Steve Loe emphasized the resilience of women in business, saying, “Despite the current high cost of living…Australian women are simply powering through.”
Finalists for both programs will be announced in July, with winners revealed at gala events on August 23 and 24, at Sydney’s The Star.

Sydney Winter Markets Return

Sydney, May 30: Two major Winter markets will brighten up Sydney this July and August: the new Burwood Winter Market and the returning Cronulla Winter Market.
The Burwood Winter Market will take place at Burwood Park on Saturday, June 8th, from 9am to 3pm. The Cronulla Winter Market will be held at Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda Beach, on June 29th-30th from 10am to 3pm.
These events will feature over 300 stalls combined, offering a variety of fashion, art, crafts, homewares, kids’ products, candles, gifts, and food. Attendees can enjoy international cuisine, live music, and activities for children.
“Winter is a great time for markets,” said Cambridge Markets Director Rebecca Starr. “The weather in Sydney is gorgeous, making it a perfect time for people to gather, shop, and enjoy outdoor dining.”
Starr emphasized the careful curation of the markets to showcase NSW’s best small businesses. “We take pride in discovering and selecting the finest small businesses to feature at our markets,” she said. “There are so many talented individuals creating amazing products, and we love connecting them with our large audiences.”
The Burwood Winter Market will include stalls such as Alrok and Antonia Scales for jewellery, Finders Distillery for spirits, Four Sparks and Lee & Rose for candles, Johnson & Savage for homewares, and MAD DOUGH for jumbo doughnuts.
Cronulla’s market will feature Bowerbird Jewellery, Perez Trading’s Panama hats, Wolf and Woman distillery, VERVE’s candles, and more. Food options include THICC Cookies & BIGG Brownies, G-Free Donuts, Gelato Messina, and various hot food stalls.
Both markets are pet-friendly, welcoming furry friends with stalls like Urban Petz, Kotes by Kobe, and Natura.
“We’re noticing that the international food aspect of our markets is becoming extremely popular,” Starr added.
“These days, people come to the markets as much for the food as for the shopping. We take great pleasure in providing a wide variety of foods and cuisines for our customers.”
