Aspera Launches Flip Phone

Sydney, May 1: As the Australian telecom industry prepares for the 3G network shutdown, Aspera Mobile has launched two new mobile phones designed for simplicity and affordability.
The F50 flip phone, priced at $99, and the F48 candy bar phone, available for $69, cater to those seeking user-friendly mobile solutions amidst the technological shift.
Aspera’s Managing Director, Allan Robertson, emphasized the company’s commitment to simplicity. “At Aspera, we understand that some people want to keep it simple and not everyone needs all the functionality of a smartphone, nor the distractions that can come with being permanently connected,” Robertson said.
He highlighted the F50 and F48 as ideal for users who prefer straightforward, easy-to-use devices.
The F50, a flip phone, and the F48, a candy bar phone, were developed in response to consumer needs for basic, reliable phones as the 3G network is phased out.

These devices offer a seamless transition to 4G technology, ensuring connectivity without disruption. Both models are equipped with features like Bluetooth, a loudspeaker, and an FM radio, with the F50 adding a charging cradle with a USB-C connection and a one-touch SOS button for emergency calls.
“The F50 and F48 are simple, basic but essential features. More often than not they are used by the young or elderly who simply want to make and receive calls and send and receive texts,” Robertson explained.
He added that the phones play a crucial role in the mobile phone ecosystem, particularly for users who do not chase fast data speeds.

In addition to basic phone capabilities, the F50 offers unique features such as a charging cradle for easier handling, and an SOS button that can initiate emergency calls and send texts to pre-defined numbers, providing peace of mind for older individuals living alone.
The F50 is available in red and midnight blue, both with a soft-touch finish, and the F48 retains a straightforward design with just the essentials.

Both phones boast a long battery life due to their modest power requirements.
“We know parents, grandparents, and even great-grand grandparents will be more than happy with these phones and that’s why we made them.”
The new models are available at retailers including Big W, Mobileciti, Mobile Experts, Retravision, and convenience stores across the country.
