Kucingko Berhad Announces IPO

Kuala Lumpur, April 30: Kucingko Berhad, a leading Malaysian 2D animation production firm, today announced its upcoming initial public offering (IPO) on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
The IPO will release about 200 million ordinary shares, representing 40 per cent of the company’s enlarged share base, divided equally between a public issue and an offer for sale.
Operating through its subsidiary, Inspidea Sdn. Bhd., Kucingko has established a strong presence in the 2D animation industry, completing 59 projects worth RM63.22 million over the last three years and a half, producing over 4,617 minutes of animated content.
This content has not only reached global audiences but has also been a hit across diverse cultures. Predominantly, the company earns its revenue from international markets such as North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, showcasing its expertise in animation and deep connections with content producers.
See Chin Joo, Executive Director of Kucingko Berhad, shared his enthusiasm about the IPO: “Securing approval for our IPO on the ACE Market is a major milestone, because this will be the first animation production studio to be listed on Bursa. By setting the precedence, we hope to inspire other Bursa ready companies in the creative industry to follow suit.”
The IPO marks a significant phase for Kucingko, aiming to leverage capital market opportunities to drive expansion plans both locally and internationally.
The company intends to use the IPO proceeds to boost production capabilities, enhance its business network in the United States, and strengthen its market position.
Notably, a substantial part of the funds will go towards establishing branch offices in Sabah and Sarawak to access new talent pools and supplement the workforce at its Kelana Jaya office, which currently houses 260 artists.
See elaborated on the expansion strategy: “This expansion is not just about capacity; it’s about deepening our business relationships with our existing clients, and expanding the clientele network in the USA, Because of this need, part of the proceeds will be strategically used to establish a sales and marketing office in the USA, enabling us to be closer to our largest market and facilitate better client management and engagement. Lastly, the remaining portion of the proceeds will be earmarked for our working capital requirements.”
Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad is serving as the Principal Adviser, Sponsor, Underwriter, and Placement Agent for Kucingko Berhad’s IPO.
