Kuala Lumpur, April 17: Yayasan MR D.I.Y. has introduced its first scholarship programme, aimed at providing financial support to Malaysian students pursuing higher education.
The Yayasan MR D.I.Y. Scholarship Programme is designed to assist undergraduates who have demonstrated strong academic, leadership, and community service achievements.
The initial recipients of this programme are Cheong Wai Kee, a fourth-semester student studying Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Tan Zhi Liang, a second-semester student pursuing Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting. Both students are enrolled at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Kampar, Perak.
Announcing the launch, Zaleha Mohd Mydin, CEO of Yayasan MR D.I.Y., stated, “At Yayasan MR D.I.Y., we believe in the transformative power of education, and we are committed to providing opportunities for promising students to realize their potential.
This scholarship programme provides financial assistance to undergraduates who demonstrate exceptional academic prowess, leadership capabilities, and a profound dedication to community service. Cheong Wai Kee and Tan Zhi Liang have both demonstrated such admirable qualities, and we hope this recognition and support from Yayasan MR D.I.Y. will inspire more young Malaysians to strive for the same.”
Zaleha added, “We aim to make a positive impact on the lives of young Malaysians, empowering them to become leaders and change-makers who in turn make an impact on our country and communities for generations to come.”
Established in June 2023, Yayasan MR D.I.Y. places a strong emphasis on environmental protection, health, capacity-building, and promoting arts and culture. The foundation is dedicated to making a significant positive impact on the Malaysian community.
