Oslo, March 29: Imagine encountering a YouTube video that leaves you utterly bewildered, disgusted, or just at a loss for words.
What if there was a way to express those reactions more vividly? Opera GX, the browser crafted for gamers, introduces an inventive solution: the “Reaktinator.”
This new feature enables viewers to embed their own video reactions directly onto YouTube videos they’re watching.
With Reaktinator, users can bring to life vibrant reactions using clips from well-known internet personalities like Charlie/Penguinz0, JimmyHere, Jschlatt, and Pyrocynical.
Yet, the possibilities extend far beyond; viewers can upload virtually any video or clip, sound included or not, turning personal recordings or cherished moments from family videos into reaction material.
This feature is designed to convert ordinary online videos into shared comedic experiences.
Users have the freedom to add an unlimited number of reactions, as long as each is under 10MB.
Activating the Reaktinator is straightforward: it appears in the top corner of the chosen YouTube video, facilitating the creation of on-the-spot meme edits across YouTube’s extensive video library.
Maciej Kocemba, Product Director at Opera, shares the origin of Reaktinator, noting its conception as a playful nod to the viral nature of reaction videos.
Surprised by the enthusiastic community feedback from a mere tweet about the then-imaginary feature, the Opera team was inspired to make it a reality, fueled by user suggestions.
To dive into the Reaktinator experience (currently in Beta), simply open a YouTube video and press CTRL + Shift + R on Windows or Command + Shift + R on macOS.
