WhatsApp Unveils New Channels

Kuala Lumpur, March 27: In celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, WhatsApp is thrilled to introduce a suite of new channels tailored for the Malaysian audience, aiming to enrich the festive season with local entertainment, culture, travel, and culinary delights.
Embedded within the ‘Updates’ tab, separate from personal chats, these channels offer a private, reliable way to connect with public figures and organizations for essential updates.
Among the new additions are channels from well-known personalities and platforms like smashpop and Zoo Negara, alongside a selection of local luminaries who will bring unique insights into Malaysian life during Hari Raya.
Notable among them is Erul Samah, offering behind-the-scenes looks into the entertainment industry; Ceddy Ang, who shares food reviews and entrepreneurial tips; and Nicholas Lim Pinn Yang of Good Foodie Media, your go-to for dining and travel recommendations.
Food enthusiasts can dive into the diverse culinary scene with KL Foodie and its regional counterparts, while those interested in home aesthetics can follow Malaysia Homie for design inspiration.
For a touch of cross-cultural exploration, iChang and her husband Jimmy provide captivating content on their travels and experiences in Malaysia.
With over 500 million users engaging with channels since their global launch last September, WhatsApp continues to enhance this feature with voice updates, polls, share to status, and multiple admin capabilities, ensuring a dynamic and interactive experience for users.
