Qatar Airways Shifts to Manohar International Airport

Doha, Feb 26: Qatar Airways has announced the relocation of its operations from Dabolim Airport (GOI) in South Goa to the new Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa, starting 20 June 2024.
The airline will maintain its daily direct flight schedule to Doha, utilizing Airbus 320 and Boeing 787 aircraft.
This move to GOX, alongside partners IndiGo and Oman Air, promises passengers an improved experience with modern facilities close to key amenities.
Since initiating its Goa service in 2009, Qatar Airways aims to enhance connectivity to its extensive network through this strategic shift, reflecting the vibrant local culture and potential cargo capabilities of GOX.
MAB, IVP Ink Lease
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 26: In a strategic move to bolster Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services in the region, MAB Engineering Services and Impeccable Vintage Properties have finalized a lease for Hangar 4 at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, announced at the NAICO Malaysia China Aviation Forum. This lease, following a Letter of Offer and Acceptance from September 2023, signifies a major expansion for MAB Engineering, allowing for enhanced operational capacity to service both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft simultaneously.
Malaysia Aviation Group’s CEO of Aviation Services, Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri, expressed enthusiasm for the agreement’s role in elevating MRO services and industry standards. IVP’s CEO, Fuad Sharuji, also highlighted the investment’s importance in supporting the growth of Malaysia’s aviation sector.
MAB Engineering, currently operating four hangars across Malaysia, is set to increase its maintenance capabilities significantly with this new lease.
The company also offers comprehensive line maintenance services and training programs, further contributing to the development of local aviation talent and reinforcing Malaysia’s position in the aviation industry.
The partnership is viewed as a pivotal step in fostering Malaysia-China aviation cooperation.

New Doha-Guangzhou Route

The service, featuring four weekly flights via Boeing 787 aircraft, strengthens the strategic alliance between the two airlines and enhances connectivity.
This initiative is set to benefit travelers by providing seamless access to Qatar Airways’ extensive network across over 170 global destinations, fostering increased trade and tourism between China and Qatar.

BA Celebrates with BBQ

London, Feb 28: British Airways marks a decade of Austin-London flights by partnering with Franklin Barbecue for a special celebration.
Throughout March, Club World customers on this route will receive limited edition BA-B-Q sauce bottles. The airline also introduces a Texas-inspired barbecue menu onboard, reflecting Austin’s famous barbecue culture.
