Sydney, Jan 18: In a recent announcement, the Qantas Group has appointed Andrew Glance as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Loyalty business unit.
Glance, currently serving as the Executive Manager of Commercial Partnerships and Qantas Business Rewards, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held various senior positions within Qantas Loyalty since 2016.
His tenure at Qantas dates back to 2002, where he began his journey with the airline in senior finance positions across different areas, ranging from flight operations to inflight services.
Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson expressed her confidence in Glance’s ability to lead the Loyalty business unit, highlighting his extensive knowledge of the Loyalty business and his broad understanding of the organization.
She praised his outstanding work in expanding points-earning opportunities for members, particularly through financial services, which has bolstered the overall Loyalty program.
According to Hudson, Glance’s expertise extends to recognizing the factors that drive success for Loyalty, benefiting both customers and commercial partners.
The strategic focus of Qantas Loyalty under Glance’s leadership centers on providing members of the Frequent Flyer program with versatile point-earning options and the ability to convert them into exceptional travel experiences. This strategy encompasses recent expansions into the realm of hotels and holiday packages, as well as collaborations with additional partner airlines.
Hudson also pointed out that Qantas Frequent Flyers currently enjoy access to up to 5 million reward seats, with further enhancements planned for the future.
She teased upcoming improvements expected to be unveiled in the coming months, aimed at delighting the millions of members in the program.
Andrew Glance expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, recognizing the significant value that Qantas Loyalty brings to its members and corporate partners. He looks forward to leading the team in building upon the strong foundation already established.
Glance’s appointment follows the resignation of Olivia Wirth, the former Qantas Loyalty CEO, in October 2023.
He will transition into his new role, including joining the Qantas Group Leadership Team, as Wirth departs at the end of February 2024.
In her closing remarks, Hudson expressed gratitude to Olivia Wirth for her remarkable contributions as Loyalty CEO since 2018 and her broader impact during her 14-year tenure with the Group.
This appointment marks a pivotal moment in Qantas Loyalty’s ongoing journey to provide exceptional experiences for its members and partners.
