Sydney, Jan 16: Epson Australia has announced the launch of its latest addition to the apparel market, the SureColor F1060.
This new compact hybrid desktop printer is specifically designed for custom and low-to-medium volume direct-to-garment (DTG) and direct-to-film (DTFilm) imaging, marking a significant expansion in Epson’s offerings to the apparel industry.
The SureColor F1060, a part of Epson’s esteemed SureColor F-Series printer lineup, aims to cater to a diverse range of users including event operators, clothing retailers, print-for-pay providers, and artisans. Its introduction is seen as a strategic move to bridge the gap between professional producers and high-volume manufacturers, offering a more accessible, cost-effective, and flexible solution.
Gordon Kerr, Business Marketing Manager for Professional Print Solutions at Epson Australia, highlights the printer’s potential: “The SC-F1060 represents a paradigm shift in DTG printing. We’ve distilled advanced DTG technology into a more compact, user-friendly format, making it perfect for modern retail environments where fresh, timely, and individualized products are key.”
The SC-F1060 stands out as a hybrid printer, equipped to handle the growing demand for customized goods and t-shirts. Its enclosed design with interior lighting and a clear viewing window not only enhances the printing process but also adds to the aesthetic appeal, making it suitable for front-office use.
The printer’s versatility is further emphasized through its integrated DTG and DTFilm support, allowing for printing on a variety of materials beyond traditional natural-fiber t-shirts.
This feature enables businesses to diversify their custom product offerings significantly.
In terms of technical specifications, the SureColor F1060 boasts a PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead with Nozzle Verification Technology and next-generation UltraChrome DG2 ink with CMYK+White.
This combination ensures vibrant colors, detailed output, and consistent quality.
The inclusion of white ink prints allows for enhanced output on dark garments and improved presentation on lighter ones.
Designed with user convenience in mind, the SC-F1060 features a large touchscreen interface, automatic garment height adjustment, and a self-cleaning printhead.
It also includes Epson’s Garment Creator 2 software, compatible with Windows® and macOS®, offering fast processing and high-resolution capabilities for detailed and vibrant prints.
The printer’s low maintenance requirements, flexible operation, and connectivity options, combined with live production monitoring through Epson Cloud Solution PORT, make it an attractive choice for businesses looking to explore new revenue opportunities in garment creation.
Epson has confirmed that the SureColor F1060 will start shipping around June/July 2024, with full specifications and pricing details to be announced in May.
The printer comes with a comprehensive on-site 1-year warranty, with optional extension plans available. This launch underlines Epson’s commitment to innovation and its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the garment industry.
