WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iOS users, allowing them to create, edit, and share their own personalized stickers directly within the app.
This latest update aims to add a fun and creative element to messaging, making it easier for users to express themselves in chats and group conversations.
The new sticker maker feature eliminates the need for third-party applications or the cumbersome process of importing images from the gallery. Users can now quickly transform their photos into unique stickers or modify existing ones, all within the secure environment of WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
Creating a sticker is straightforward. Users can access their sticker tray, choose an image, and then employ various editing tools to personalize their creation.
These tools include an auto-crop function, text addition, drawing capabilities, and the option to overlay other stickers.
Once created and sent, these stickers are automatically saved in the sticker tray, allowing for easy reuse in future conversations.
Editing existing stickers is just as simple. By long-pressing a chosen sticker, users can select the ‘edit sticker’ option and customize it with text, drawings, or additional stickers before sending it.
This sticker maker feature, which has already been available on WhatsApp Web, is now being rolled out to iOS users with version 17 and above.
Those on older iOS versions will still enjoy the ability to edit existing stickers, though they won’t have the functionality to create new ones.
This roll-out is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and foster creative communication on its platform.
