Kuala Lumpur, Dec 28: Shopee Live’s top rural seller, Muhammad Faizz Pausan Arif from Terengganu, owner-operator of Keropok Mfaizz, has achieved record-breaking success by selling over RM500,000 worth of keropok lekor in just three months.
Faizz’s journey from a struggling offline store owner to a thriving online entrepreneur is a testament to the power of Shopee Live in transforming lives.
Faizz’s story is one of determination and adaptability. He recognized that the key to success on Shopee Live was innovation in content.
Starting with showing viewers how to make keropok live, he later experimented with various approaches, including offering free homemade chili sauce with purchases.

Happy winners at Shopee Super Awards 2023 showing off their hard-earned trophies.

However, it was his ‘Packing Secara Live’ series that became a hit, as customers loved seeing their orders being packed and ready for delivery.
Faizz’s strategic choice of the 8am time slot on Shopee Live played a crucial role in his success. He leveraged the freshness factor of keropok lekor, showing viewers how he prepared the product from scratch and vacuum packed it for same-day courier pickup.
This ensured that customers received their orders in prime condition, ready to be fried and enjoyed.
Unlike many of his offline competitors in Terengganu, who had to rely on seasonal sales during school holidays, Faizz expanded his customer base nationwide, with most orders coming from Selangor and Johor. He has sold over 18,000 orders since joining Shopee Live in March this year.
Faizz’s success has not only changed his life but also benefited his local community.

He sources fish from local fishermen in Terengganu, providing employment to 25 people in his neighborhood for production and packaging.
He is also inspiring his four siblings, all keropok sellers, to transition to the online platform.
Kenneth Soh, Head of Marketing at Shopee Malaysia, emphasized the platform’s role in empowering businesses to thrive in the digital economy.
With 98,000 new sellers joining Shopee’s ecosystem in the past year, the platform has proven to be a driving force for economic inclusion.
Shopee Super Awards 2023 celebrated not only individual success stories like Muhammad Faizz’s but also honored brands, sellers, influencers, and affiliates who have made significant contributions to the e-commerce landscape in Malaysia.
