Sydney, Dec 12: Relevance AI, an Australian startup specializing in enabling businesses to build AI workforces, has successfully raised AU$15 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was led by AI-focused venture capital firm King River Capital and saw participation from global investors including Peak XV’s Surge, Galileo Ventures, and existing investor Insight Partners.
The newly acquired funds will primarily be used to expand Relevance AI’s team on a global scale, with plans to establish a presence in San Francisco in the coming year.
Relevance AI’s mission is to simplify the process of creating custom AI agents capable of autonomously executing repetitive reasoning tasks for businesses.
The startup’s platform has already been adopted by well-known companies in the technology, retail, property, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, helping them automate tasks and boost productivity.
Relevance AI believes its technology can significantly enhance productivity for businesses of all sizes, potentially unlocking trillions of dollars in economic benefits worldwide.
In just the past three months, over 6,000 companies have registered with Relevance AI, utilizing its platform to complete more than 250,000 tasks such as handling customer inquiries, managing outbound sales, and conducting market research.
Relevance AI’s long-term goal is to assist companies in building AI workforces comprised of specialized AI agents that collaborate to tackle complex tasks.
The latest funding round takes the company one step closer to realizing this vision.
Daniel Vassilev, co-founder of Relevance AI, stated, “Our mission is to enable teams to only be limited by their ideas, not their size. We take out the complexity and make it possible for AI agents to work autonomously and complete detailed workflows or accomplish complex tasks with accuracy and predictability that companies can trust.”
Jacky Koh, co-founder of Relevance AI, emphasized the compounding value of Generative AI and its potential to drive the next doubling of human prosperity.
Zeb Rice, co-founder of lead investor King River Capital, hailed Relevance AI as a “game changer” for unlocking the true potential of generative AI.
George Mathew, Managing Director at Insight Partners, expressed excitement about expanding the partnership with Relevance AI and the potential impact on businesses’ productivity.
Generative AI is expected to add approximately four trillion dollars in value to the global economy, often referred to as the “AI dividend.” While AI is already being used across various industries, its application has been limited to supporting individuals with specific tasks.
Relevance AI aims to change this by enabling businesses to build their own AI agents, making complex and customized task automation more accessible.
Relevance AI currently offers two primary products: AI Tools that automate repetitive tasks within existing workflows and AI Agents capable of handling entire workflows in areas like marketing, sales, and research.
The company’s latest agent, the BDR agent, assists sales leaders in automating manual tasks such as prospecting, responding to inquiries, and appointment booking.
This significant investment in Relevance AI reflects the growing importance of AI in enhancing business productivity and efficiency.
