Subang Jaya, Nov 6: Subang Parade, a flagship property under Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), is now grappling with the aftermath of an unexpected flash flood following heavy rainfall on Nov 5.
The shopping centre’s management has swiftly initiated flood relief measures, prioritizing the safety and well-being of shoppers, tenants, and staff during these challenging circumstances.
The flash flood, a consequence of the downpour, took place at approximately 5 P.M. on the mentioned day, impacting parts of the shopping centre’s lower ground floor and basement.
While no injuries have been reported, the incident resulted in damage to various areas, including stores, common areas, and parking facilities.
In response to the situation, Puan Aldela Puspa Nordin, the Chief Executive Officer of Hektar Property Services Sdn. Bhd. (Property Manager of Hektar REIT), affirmed their unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all patrons.
Nordin stated, “Our team is diligently focused on minimizing disruptions to businesses and expediting the restoration of the shopping centre for your convenience.”
The incident has been reported to relevant local authorities, including the Fire & Rescue Department and the Subang Jaya City Council, who will investigate and implement preventive measures to avert similar unfortunate events in the future.
Subang Parade extends its appreciation to local authorities, the community, and the Fire & Rescue Department for their immediate and invaluable assistance.
Following the efforts of dedicated employees and cleanup crews, Subang Parade is back to its regular operation.
The Lower Ground Floor, which bore the brunt of the impact, is expected to be fully operational by the following day.
