Sydney, Sept 14: The beloved Broadway blockbuster musical, WICKED, has landed in Sydney’s Emerald City at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, where it will play until December 31st. This iconic production, which first premiered on Broadway almost two decades ago, continues to captivate audiences worldwide and has garnered numerous awards, including the Grammy Award, the Olivier Award, six Helpmann Awards, three Tony Awards®, and six Drama Desk Awards.

The musical draws its inspiration from Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel “Wicked,” which has sold over 5.5 million copies, with the majority of sales occurring since the musical’s debut in 2003. The novel continues to grace bestseller lists to this day.
The Australian cast features Courtney Monsma as Glinda, Sheridan Adams as Elphaba, Robyn Nevin AO as Madame Morrible, Todd McKenney as the Wizard, Liam Head as Fiyero, Adam Murphy as Dr. Dillamond, Shewit Belay as Nessarose, and Kurtis Papadinis making his professional adult debut as Boq. Zoe Coppinger serves as the Elphaba Standby.
