Singapore, Sept 12: Schellenberg Wittmer, a top-tier Swiss law firm, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Singapore office, which also serves as a regional hub.
Over the past decade, the firm has seen significant growth in its international arbitration business while providing valuable assistance to clients engaged in both inbound and outbound investments.
The Singapore office was initially established by Partner and then-Managing Director Dr. Philippe Borens, who laid the groundwork for a thriving practice.
In 2017, Christopher Boog succeeded Dr. Borens and transformed the Singapore office into a hub specializing in international arbitration services, in addition to its support for clients with investment activities.
In early 2023, Boog handed over the leadership to the current Managing Director and Partner, Julie Raneda.
Raneda has been an integral part of the Singapore team for the past seven years and possesses a deep understanding of the region.
Raneda was elected as the Chair of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SwissCham Singapore) earlier in 2023, making her the first female Chair to assume this role.
As a Partner at Schellenberg Wittmer, she will continue to strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region while actively promoting Swiss businesses in Singapore and fostering stronger ties between the Swiss and Singaporean economies through SwissCham.
Raneda expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to advise clients on both sides of the world and facilitate the reinforcement of these ties, highlighting the commonalities and longstanding relationship between Singapore and Switzerland.
Through its steadfast presence in Singapore, Schellenberg Wittmer has established itself as a trusted partner for cross-border legal work and international arbitration matters in Singapore and the surrounding region.
Boog, who maintains strong client relationships in the region, emphasized the significance of Schellenberg Wittmer’s Singapore office as a gateway to various Asian markets, enabling closer engagement with clients and setting the firm apart from many competitors.
Schellenberg Wittmer extends its gratitude to all clients, business partners, and team members for their collaborative efforts over the past decade.
The firm looks forward to a promising future with its partners. To commemorate this milestone, a celebration marking the 10th anniversary will be held in Singapore on September 7, 2023, with clients and business partners in attendance.
