Penang’s Free Medical Camp

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 11: The Temple Of Fine Arts, Penang, is organizing a Free Specialist Medical Camp to provide essential healthcare services to the community.
The camp will take place at Klinik Derma Sivasanta, located at No. 11, River Road, Penang (next to River Road Tamil School) on September 14, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The medical camp will feature specialist doctors, including Neurosurgeon Dr. Senthil Kumar A/L Rajapathy, Oncologist-Clinical Dr. Mohamed Amir Shah Abdul Aziz, Physician/Surgeon Dr. Suaran Singh, and Dentist Dr. P. Vimahl Dass, who specializes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In addition to medical consultations, the attending doctors will provide medical reports and referral letters for patients with chronic conditions, facilitating further treatment at Penang General Hospital.

Giant Inflatable Iron Unveiled

MR D.I.Y. is launching “Kecil dan Besar MR D.I.Y.  Ada” initiative. The retailer also unveiling the largest inflatable iron in Malaysia and it is located at the Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur. 

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 15: Malaysia’s popular DIY store, MR D.I.Y., surprised Kuala Lumpur residents by unveiling a massive inflatable iron above the city skyline. This impressive spectacle marks the launch of their new campaign, “Big & Small, MR D.I.Y Has It All” / “Kecil & Besar, MR D.I.Y. Ada.”
The giant inflatable iron, measuring 16 x 7.5 x 8 meters, looms over Taman Tasik Titiwangsa until October 15, 2023. This eye-catching installation recently earned recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records as the ‘largest inflatable iron in Malaysia.’
The “Kecil & Besar MR D.I.Y. Ada” initiative highlights MR D.I.Y.’s vast product range, boasting over 20,000 items available in its 1,200+ stores nationwide.
Alex Goh, MR D.I.Y. Group’s Head of Marketing, stated, “We cater to all needs, from small items like batteries and key chains to larger products like vacuum cleaners and inflatable pools, all starting at less than RM1.00. Our stores are tailored to various locations, including smaller towns and major cities like Kuala Lumpur and Penang.”
Goh added, “The giant inflatable iron sends a fun message about MR D.I.Y.’s extensive offerings to all Malaysians. Visit Taman Titiwangsa to see it for yourself.”
MR D.I.Y. plans to take “The Iron” to other states, giving more Malaysians the chance to see it.
The retailer has also placed large installations across the city, including interactive water taps, paint rollers, Disney tumblers, and plush toys.
These installations are part of the “#KecilBesarMRDIYada Snap & Win Contest,” offering prizes worth RM20,000, including yacht trips, helicopter rides, fine dining experiences, and cash vouchers.

Monster Jam Returns to Queensland

Sydney, Sept 22: Get ready, Queensland! Monster Jam™ is making a triumphant return after six years, revving up the excitement at CBUS Stadium on the Gold Coast with not one, but TWO adrenaline-pumping shows on October 21.
Monster Jam® is the ultimate motorsports experience, offering unexpected, unscripted, and unforgettable moments for families and fans. World champion athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks will unleash their power on the dirt in thrilling competitions of speed and skill. This stadium-only event is the biggest and loudest of its kind.
Gold Coast fans are in for a treat as they witness the Australian debut of four Marvel Monster Jam trucks: The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Thor. These superhero trucks will go head-to-head with fan favorites like the legendary Grave Digger®, El Toro Loco®, Max-Dä, and Megalodon® in Freestyle, Skills, and Racing competitions.
This year’s Monster Jam event showcases skilled athletes vying for the event championship while putting on a mesmerizing show. Monster Jam drivers are world-class athletes, both male and female, who possess the strength, stamina, and precision required to control 12,000-pound machines capable of jaw-dropping feats like backflips, vertical two-wheel skills, and speeds of up to 70 miles-per-hour.

Here are some impressive Monster Jam facts:

  • Each engine delivers about 1,500 horsepower.
  • It takes 1,500 man-hours to build and dismantle the track.
  • A whopping 113 liters of paint are used to decorate the track and obstacles.

But the action doesn’t stop there. Before the competitions kick off, there will be a Monster Jam ‘Pit Party’ from 9:00am to 11:30am, providing fans with an up-close experience with the Monster Jam teams. Attendees can get a close look at the massive trucks, learn how they’re built, meet their favorite drivers, snap pictures, collect autographs, and much more.

Sydney’s Spring Festivals Return

Sydney, Sept 22: Get ready to pump up the jam, Queensland! Monster Jam is about to deliver a thrilling spectacle you won’t want to miss.
Sydney’s local neighborhoods are gearing up for a season of lively, family-friendly festivals this spring. Across seven weekends, the main streets of Sydney’s inner villages will be temporarily closed to traffic, creating pedestrian-friendly zones where locals can explore and enjoy their communities. This initiative aims to support local businesses and organizations by providing outdoor trading opportunities and fostering a sense of community.
Running from 11 am to 10 pm, the Sydney Streets events promise a vibrant atmosphere, complete with alfresco dining, pop-up stalls, roving entertainment, live music, and games for kids.
Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO, explained the significance of Sydney Streets: “Sydney Streets is something we introduced as part of our Covid community recovery plan to create outdoor celebrations in local neighborhoods that bring communities together and support our high street businesses.”
Moore added, “This spring, we’ll once again transform high streets across the city into spaces for walking, shopping, dining, and entertainment. Along with our ongoing outdoor dining program, Sydney Streets has been instrumental in supporting the economic and social recovery of businesses and local communities impacted by the pandemic.”

The Sydney Streets program is set to take place on the following dates:

  • 23 September – Redfern Street, Redfern: Enjoy a drink at Beercade and savor paella at Vamonos while being entertained by capoeira dancers and the Mexican mariachi band Fiesta Viva.
  • 30 September – Hay Street, Haymarket: Sample traditional Chinese dishes from local favorites, including Chongqing Hot Pot, and indulge in delicious desserts from Sweet Lu. The day will be filled with dance groups, choirs, drummers, and lion dancers.
  • 14 October – Glebe Point Road, Glebe: Features performances by singer/songwriter Emad Younan, breakdancers, and roving entertainers. Local eateries such as Dirty Red Café, Staves Brewery, Nag’s Head Hotel, and Kandy by Sri Lankan Bites will serve up their finest.
  • 21 October – Stanley Street, Darlinghurst: Grab a bite from local diners like Soul Burger and Yormichi, enjoy a cocktail from The Long Goodbye and Stanley’s Bar, and keep children amused with face painters and entertainers.
  • 4 November – Crown Street, Surry Hills: Offers drinking and dining options including Ardis Block to Grill, Giuls, Masala Theory, and Surry Hills Fine Wines. DJs and live music will get people dancing in the street.
  • 11 November – Harris Street, Pyrmont: Harris Street, between Pyrmont Bridge Road and Union Street, will be a lively hub of activity, with music, live entertainment, and diverse food offerings from Elements Bar & Grill, Gallon, and Dkstation Vietnamese Street Eats.
  • 18 November – Macleay Street, Potts Point: Dance to music from live DJs, savor dishes from eateries like Rustic French and Ms Cattea Tea Bar, and enjoy children’s activities and roving entertainers.

All Sydney Streets events are fully accessible, dog-friendly, and promise excitement and activity as local businesses offer special deals, games, and more.
Additionally, Sydney Streets events are being planned from February to April 2024, providing further opportunities for local businesses and organizations to engage with customers and extend their outdoor presence, subject to approval.

UR Hosts Cobot Conference

Malaysian Manufacturers to Collaborate at APAC’s Largest Cobot Conference.

Singapore, Sept 25: Universal Robots (UR) is hosting Collaborate APAC 2023, Asia Pacific’s largest cobot conference in Malaysia.
Malaysia’s manufacturing industry accounts for 24 per cent of export revenue and GDP, underscoring its significance.
The event aims to address manufacturing challenges and explore automation solutions.
Set in Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway Resort Hotel, the conference will feature presentations from companies like Sensata and Plasform, sharing their automation journeys. UR emphasizes automation’s role as a catalyst for productivity and innovation.
The Malaysian government has allocated funds for initiatives like the Smart Automation Grant (SAG) to promote automation adoption. The electronics industry is thriving with 5G rollout and major projects by Intel and Infineon.
Collaborate APAC 2023 coincides with the launch of UR20, a next-gen cobot. The event offers hands-on UR20 demonstrations and insights from UR’s R&D head, Lars Bach.
Panel discussions will explore collaborative automation’s transformative impact in APAC and its role in shaping Industry 5.0. Experts from UR’s partners will showcase applications and components.
