Every step counts! New research shows just 4000 steps a day can make a difference to your health.

Walking just 2,300 steps reduces cardiovascular disease risk, and each additional 1,000 steps brings about a 15 per cent risk reduction for various causes of death.
While 10,000 steps are often recommended, Pedestrian Council CEO Harold Scruby notes this goal can discourage those struggling with time constraints. Scruby emphasizes that even fewer steps can make a significant difference in health. Hayley Nicholson, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, advocates short walks to break prolonged sitting, supporting long-term health.
Walking is endorsed for Type 2 diabetes management, improving glucose control and reducing complications. It also helps with conditions like diabetic neuropathy. With numerous Australians impacted by diabetes, WTWD encourages incorporating walking into work routines for a healthier workplace.
