He-Man Returns In April

Perth, March 2: Everyone’s favourite 80s cartoon is getting a new beat-’em-up.
Mattel and Limited Run Games have announced He-Man and the Masters of the Universe™: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, a retro-styled 2D arcade brawler launching digitally on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, timed with Masters of the Universe (MOTU) Day. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Developed by retro specialists Bitmap Bureau in collaboration with Mattel, the game sees Skeletor team up with Evil-Lyn after uncovering the ancient Dragon Pearl of Destruction, threatening to plunge Eternia into darkness. Players will fight back as He-Man, Man-At-Arms and Teela, with two-player co-op available for local couch play.
The brawler leans hard into the classic animated series vibe with chunky pixel-art visuals, 12 action-packed stages across locations like the Royal Palace, Vine Jungle and Snake Mountain, and a villain lineup featuring Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and Trap Jaw, plus deeper cuts like Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts. Battle Cat is also rideable, and She-Ra is set to be unlockable in future playthroughs.
