Kuala Lumpur, Nov 8: In a recent survey conducted among 500 local and independent online sellers in Malaysia, Shopee emerged as the preferred platform for sellers focused on ensuring a safe shopping experience for customers.
When asked about their platform of choice for operating a secure online business, 90 percent of the sellers chose Shopee over nine other possible marketplaces.
Kenneth Soh, Head of Marketing at Shopee, emphasized that these findings reflect a high level of trust among Malaysian sellers in Shopee’s ability to provide a safe and secure platform for their businesses. The platform offers various innovative features and protections, including Shopee Guarantee, secure payment options, and Preferred+ and Shopee Mall verification programs.
Shopee also collaborates with law enforcement agencies to combat fraud and protect users.
The survey, titled #ShopSafeWithShopee, revealed that nine out of ten Malaysian sellers on Shopee have successfully safeguarded their businesses from online scams or fraud in the past year.
This commitment to offering trusted shopping experiences has resulted in several tangible benefits, including protecting brand reputation, saving expenses, and ensuring the continuity of operations.
Sellers prioritize online safety features to build customer trust, and this involves complying with Shopee’s safe policies, guidelines, and high standards of service.
Many sellers have also sought verification as Shopee Mall, Preferred+, or Preferred sellers to assure customers of their authenticity policy, return/refund policies, and product availability.
Malaysian customers have shown a preference for buying from sellers who have been verified by Shopee or have a good customer service track record.
To further enhance customer safety and trust, Shopee has introduced measures like Shopee Mall Brand Memberships and an 8X Money Back Guarantee during the 11.11 Big Sale.
This survey underscores the importance of online safety and how sellers can benefit by prioritizing it. Shopee continues to play a pivotal role in fostering trust and ensuring a secure online shopping environment for both sellers and customers.
