Black Dog Launches New Program

 Black Dog Institute launches new mental health training for managers

Sydney, April 3: The Black Dog Institute has today launched two new mental health training programs for leaders in the workplace. 
The interactive training workshops were developed in line with the National Mental Health Commission’s Blueprint for Mentally Healthy Workplaces, to build leadership skills around the core principles of creating environments that protect, respond, and promote mental health at work. 
The first program, ‘Protecting and Promoting Mental Health at Work’ provides senior and team leaders with practical strategies to help prevent mental health issues from developing in the workplace in the first place. 
The second, Managing for Team Wellbeing: Navigating Conversations, provides a deeper look into how leaders can have constructive conversations with employees around mental health concerns and how to be more effective in performance management. Those wanting to find out more about the workplace mental health training can do so here.

Alpro Invests On Logistic System 

Alpro Pharmacy and HIKROBOT join forces to drive development in the pharmaceutical logistics industry through collaborative efforts and cutting-edge technology.

Kuala Lumpur, April 3: Alpro Pharmacy, Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain,  announced an investment of RM15 million to introduce an intelligent logistics system, expected to  triple logistics efficiency of its inventory management.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU)  between Alpro Pharmacy and HIKROBOT, an international provider of machine vision and mobile  robot products and solutions, will make Alpro the first in Malaysia to leverage AI logistics in the  pharmaceuticals industry.
The intelligent logistics system is expected to help Alpro Pharmacy’s professionals save time and  energy, giving them the capacity to further improve service quality and professional competence to  provide better services to customers. 
Both parties will work together to ensure success and explore new opportunities for cooperation to  promote the development of the pharmaceutical logistics industry. 

New UNIQLO Store Opens On April 14

Tokyo, April 4: Global apparel retailer UNIQLO announces the opening of the UNIQLO Yodobashi Akiba Store in the Akihabara area of Tokyo, Japan’s famous electronics district.
The store, opening on Friday April 14 in the iconic Yodobashi Akiba Building, will be the largest UNIQLO ever in this celebrated neighborhood.
To commemorate this highly-anticipated opening, customers can enjoy a special instore range of novelty and collaborative items with a uniquely Akihabara (“Akiba”) flavour.

Bankers Meet To Discuss Future

AICB-GEFI Convene Global Finance and Sustainability Experts to Explore Financing for Transition Towards Net Zero at 2nd Ethical Finance ASEAN Summit

Kuala Lumpur, April 4: The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and UK-based Global  Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI) co-organised the second instalment of the Ethical Finance ASEAN  virtual summit (EF ASEAN 2023) on March 30, featuring finance and ESG leaders from Southeast  Asia, the wider APAC region and beyond. 
This year’s theme, “Financing Transition”, explored how financial institutions in the region can support  Southeast Asian economies in their transition towards net zero.
Discussions also covered the ASEAN  Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, the importance of a social dimension to financing, nature and  biodiversity, the role of Islamic finance, and the professional skills needed to deliver the transition. 
Key highlights of the discussions covered: the new ASEAN sustainable finance taxonomy, how to  mobilise private capital for climate finance, the risks and opportunities associated with nature  financing, the need to consider the just transition and the potential of sustainable Islamic finance.
“This is the second consecutive year that AICB is  collaborating with GEFI on the Ethical Finance ASEAN conference,” AICB Chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim said.
“Given that the investment needs  for climate action are the greatest in the ASEAN region, it is imperative to continue these important  conversations on the urgency of transition financing and climate action in the region and how the  banking and financial sector are progressing.” 

Tec D Malaysia and Cloudera Deepen Partnership 

Malaysia, April 4: Tec D Malaysia, a TD SYNNEX company, today announced a further deepening of its long-standing strategic partnership with hybrid data company, Cloudera, in Malaysia. ACS Applauds Federal TikTok Ban

Sydney, April 5: ACS President, Dr Nick Tate, FACS, has welcomed yesterday’s announcement by Federal Attorney General, Mark Dreyfus, banning TikTok on government supplied devices.
“It is heartening to see the government acting promptly on the advice of cybersecurity experts and our intelligence agencies,” Dr Tate said.
“The security implications of TikTok on government and personal devices has been a concern for some time so it is important to be taking proactive steps.”
“As we have seen over the past year, cybersecurity is a critical and rapidly evolving field and at ACS we are working with government agencies and ministers to ensure Australian data is kept as secure as possible.
“We are very pleased to see the Federal government is recognising the importance of the technology sector to the Australian economy and taking appropriate measures to ensure its integrity and safety.”

Malaysian Genomics Makes Inroads in Latest Expansion

Petaling Jaya, April 5: Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Berhad, a genomics and biopharmaceutical specialist, has announced that the Group is making progress in establishing partnerships following the signing of a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with several Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based parties.
The SCA signed in October 2022 involves American Spine Center (“ASC”), a Dubai, UAE-based specialist in spinal injury and spine pathology; BALSAM Health Services (“Balsam”), a Dubai, UAE-based healthcare service provider; Wellness by Design FZ LLC (“Wellness by Design”), a Dubai, UAE-based nutrition, obesity and weight loss specialist, and Sharjah, UAE-based IAC International LLC (“IAC”), which is coordinating and developing the partnerships.
Under the SCA, the parties are exploring common strategies for joint or allied projects, the first of which is the deployment of Malaysian Genomics’ genetic screening tests and genomic research capabilities in the Middle-East North Africa region.

Promoting Sabah Through Children’s Book

Kota Kinabalu, April 7: A Sabah-based film production company has come up with a children’s activity book featuring many attractions and fun things to do in the Kudat Division area.
Vinoun Films designed the educational colouring guidebook for Rajawali Homes in Kota Marudu.
The book is a complimentary gift for kids staying at the hotel with their families.
Recently, the team led by co-founder Rachel Ongkili met with Sabah Tourism Board Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai to present their Adventures of Kondiu and Odu book and explore future opportunities for partnership with Sabah Tourism.
The activity book makes reference to some of the places of interest along the way from Kota Belud to Kudat through games and illustrations, she added.
Bangkuai, who is also state Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment, lauded Vinoun Films’ creative works, saying that showcasing Sabah culture through animation and books can bring about positive changes for the local community and help to preserve and promote Sabah’s cultural identity.
