The good news is that we have a new replacement banker but the bad news is that he is as rude and uncooperative as the old banker. At this stage, I am unsure if this building would take place anymore. Perhaps, this column is to be blamed, people got envious about our move to Western Australia, and are looking to destroy our every intention of moving here. The truth is I personally hate it here in Sydney and was looking forward to moving to Western Australia where I already had a set of friends including a very close blood relative.
After having had a meltdown with the previous banker- the new banker from the same organisation is coming up with loads of new questions that might hamper the lending process altogether and eventually the build. I just feel that this bank is not really keen on helping us anymore and for courtesy’s sake they are just passing me around until I get fed up and move on with another bank or cancel the build altogether. But I have invested a lot of time with this bank – six months to be exact and now I am not sure if I should continue on with another bank or just move countries altogether if this plan falls through. Some of my friends have done it – moving countries during a pandemic and they say it is doable.
In short, what was supposed to be a happy build has now turned into a nightmare and possibility might not even happen at this stage. I am actually quite done with Sydney and perhaps even Australia. There are many reasons why I hate Sydney and would rather keep those reasons private but one of the main reasons is because of the sheer fact that this is a super expensive city to live in especially going into my twilight years. So, I need to do something now to remedy this future situation.
Anyway, even my complaint on the previous banker has gone on deaf ears. I did receive a formal reply stating that my complaint was being investigated on April 4 but have not received any updates till date. If this build doesn’t go through then I hope that the bank refunds us our deposit of $2000 that has been paid to the Western Australian builder based on the earlier bank’s pre-approval that was accorded to us by the previous banker. I am not suspending this column just yet. Till my next update.
