Kuala Lumpur, Dec 23: Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning.
In an earlier statement dated Dec 21, IJN said the statesman had completed all the necessary investigations for his medical check-up following admission to hospital on Dec 16.
“The team of doctors treating Dr Mahathir are satisfied with results of the investigations done over the last few days.
“Following this, Dr Mahathir is ready for discharge within the next few days.”
Dr Mahathir and his wife Tun Siti Hasmah had expressed their gratitude towards everyone who had been praying for his good health.
The Langkawi member of parliament, who turned 96 last July, had undergone two heart bypass surgeries in 1989 and 2007 and was last hospitalised in February 2018.
