Kuala Lumpur, Nov 25: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced Sky Network Television Limited as their new media partner in New Zealand.
The two-year deal from 2021 to 2022 includes the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 202, as well as the AFC Champions League featuring Asia’s top forty clubs.
Sky Network Television Limited, one of the biggest broadcasting companies in New Zealand, offers pay television services, media streaming services and broadband internet services.
With the addition of the AFC competitions, Sky rounds up its premium sport content portfolio including the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the German Bundesliga, and the Italian Series A.
“The AFC is pleased to welcome Sky Network Television Limited to the AFC’s ever-growing family of valued media and broadcast partners, which once again underlines the appeal and stature of the AFC’s world-class competitions,” AFC General Secretary Datuk Windsor John said.
Meanwhile, Sky New Zealand Head of Sports Partnership Adam Crothers said these AFC competitions are essential viewing for the true football fan.
“As we head toward the world’s two largest tournaments, the FIFA World Cup events for men (2022) and women (2023), which will both be broadcast by Sky in Aotearoa.
“We’re delighted Kiwis will be able to catch all the action on their Sky Box and stream wherever they are on Sky Sport Now,” he said.
